Yet, McGregor, a former two-division world champion will now try to face off with Poirier and claim the interim lightweight title for himself on Saturday, January 23 at Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
McGregor has retired from Mixed Martial Arts for the third time in four years coming off into this fight by knocked Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in just 40 seconds at UFC 246 in January 2020. The first match by destroying Poirier back in Sept. 2014 at UFC 178 in the first round now they are set for a rematch today.
