In June 2020, Forbes Russia announced Khabib as the most successful Russian athlete below 40. He has an estimated net worth of $30 million. He made over $2 million for his title defense against McGregor and $6 million against Dustin Poirier; this fight has elevated his status to a Megastar. Thus, landing him to be a brand ambassador of SalamPay, he is sponsored by Toyota, Gorilla energy, and Reebok. Besides that, the UFC champion is also paid handsomely for attendance and charges $300,000 per day for speaking engagements. Besides that, he is the most followed wrestler from Russia on his Instagram account, with over 16 million followers. He is also a great football fanatic of the Russian National team, Real Madrid and Liverpool F.C.

However, because of their rivalry between him and McGregor ever since he defeated him, they still hurl insults and provocation to each other whenever they get time or meet. Furthermore, their rivalry has made huge profits for the UFC. UFC fined him $50,000 for attacking Conor’s coach Dillon Danis after the post-fight with Conor for being disrespectful. This controversy made his payment for the fight to be withheld by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) as a result, pending an investigation to his actions, but he later apologized to the NSAC. Then NSAC later filed a complaint against Khabib and McGregor, a motion to approve the release of Khabib’s half of the fight payout with immediate effect, and both of them received a nine-month suspension. After the suspension period, he defended his title against Dustin Poirier, which he won without any brawl, and they exchanged shirts as a sign of respect and accepting defeat. Later in the post-fight interview, Khabib said he would be selling Poirier’s shirt to raise funds for Poirier’s charity.

Unfortunately, in May 2020, Khabib’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedev, succumbed from COVID-19 following heart surgery. Generally, Khabib’s strict father modeled him in a humble background and hard work to succeed in his career without losing any fight. He is worth placing a bet on him.
